The Most Holy Trinity June 7, 2009

First Reading: Deuteronomy 4:32-34. 39-40

Moses asks the people if they have ever seen anything great as the actions of God. He reminds them that there is only one God and all people must keep his commandments. If the laws of God are kept, his people will prosper all their lives.

Second Reading: Romans 8:14-17

Paul explains that through the Holy Spirit, we become children of God. As heirs of God we must be willing to suffer as Christ was if we are to share in his glory.

Gospel: Matthew 28:16-20

Jesus asks his disciples to go to other nations and teach others all that they have learned. He asks that these new followers be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Dear Lord, teach me to be generous; Teach me to serve you as you deserve; To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labor, and not to ask for any reward - except that of knowing that I am doing your holy will. AMEN.

This arrangement takes place through the use of live video conferencing equipment which connects all of the students and provides an interactive forum for discussions, sharing, and teaching. Open doors and open hearts

At the end of a busy day as I walk the small sidewalk toward my home, God spoke quietly to my heart and asked, "Who have you passed on the road today? Who silently implored your compassion, your charity, and your aid? Was life to busy for you to see an outstretched hand, too noisy to hear that whispered plea? Where will I find a Good Samaritan if not in you? Humbly, I respond, as I reached for the door, I paused to speak what has become a daily prayer for me. Give me Your sight and compassion Lord, that each time I open a door, I also open my eyes to see, my heart to love, and my hand to serve. C. Lee
